i have been trying to figure out my problem. May be a relay issue. Or not.

If I push the open button it opens.
Up and close do not work.

Thoughts?

Can you push it to get it moving? Do you hear it trying to do anything? If anything I would say its the switch

Bad switch or computer. If you need either, message me.

It opens fine but no noise on close. I will multimeter the switch and see.

You have a good spare computer?

Take the relay box out (above headliner on rear passenger side) and resolder every joint on that circuit board. I've fixed several sunroofs in these cars by doing that.

I do have a spare. It's yours as long as you come get it drew.

Hold the close button with one hand and hit the center of the headliner behind the sunroof opening with the other. I've had several with that issue!

If this works, you almost certainly need to resolder the control box I mentioned earlier.

I don't disagree, but if someone has theirs stuck open, giving a little whack is easier than whipping out the little crank tool and climbing in the back seat!

Done the rear smack thing to the purple car. I need to re seal the sunroof so guess I am pulling it again this summer

I'm going to piggy back on yours Drew, but on mine, the roof will open, and then not shut, but if i turn the car off and on again, often times i'll be able to shut it.

Reflow the solder on the thingy!

I have not done it yet but both cars now exhibit this symptom. So time to get one into the garage.

In any case, blerg, cause now i have to figure out how to pull down the headliner. Thanks a lot Alphius! This is all your fault some how.

It's not too bad. Just be careful, The front half with the sunroof cutout likes to bend and crease easily on the sides. A second set of hands would be useful.
