Softer rear springs for rallyx?

My '93 Legacy has '04 STi struts and springs, but I've lightened the car so much the ride is wayyyy too stiff, especially in the back where almost everything's been removed. Rally cross is much slower and bumpier than stage rally, and the back end is just being lifted into the air on many bumps.

So... I'm thinking that softer springs would be in order, but which ones? Would stock '04 Legacy springs fit an '04 STi strut? Any suggestions?

Thanks...

Why not just run your 93 Legacy stock springs?

Those are long gone :-) The STi strut/spring swap had already been done when I bought the car. It sounds like stock Legacy springs would fit on an STi strut? The '93 springs or something from '04 to match the strut?

I can not confirm that the Legacy springs will fit on the STi struts. My recommendation would be to look through this thread and see if it's covered in there.

Softer rear springs are just going to make the car push and not want to turn in. But springs from a wrx of the same year range would be the best fit.

When installed on a "narrow" car, the 02-07 impreza sedan stuff slightly binds the suspension, more so in the rear. That's probably more why it's so rough and bouncy.

Softer rear springs do make the rear grip more, but under steer vs oversteer is a matter of relationship between front and rear grip. With rallyx you want a loose rear end, and the car is already really tail happy.
