91 ss vlsd rear diff axels

Post by kalassynikoff »

So i am having problems sourcing a 23 spline inner axel that goes to 25 outside so that I can use my wrx hubs. Does anybody know how to find one or can I mix and match axle parts?

The diff has 23 spline stubs.

AFAIK you have to use the unequal length axle stubs that came with that diff. I have a theory that the unequal length axles that came on early GC's (that were fitted with real CLSDs) would work, but I've never had a set on hand to test that out.

It's not the length of the stubs that is the problem. It's the damn spline count. I have 23 spline unequal axles but the other side is the wrong size

I guess maybe I can try and fit my gc axles to the 23 spline ones to make a hybrid.

I have a feeling the diff acts as an open when you don't use the longer axle stub. This is the case on the aforementioned GC CLSD diffs.
