New Car Three Codes

I just picked up a 1992 Legacy Sport Automatic with 71k miles on it! Beautiful car with one tiny spot of rust. The car has three codes, 21,24,35. They are for the water temp sensor, canister purge control solenoid, and air control valve. I'm doing the valve cover gaskets and spark plugs and wire this weekend and I want to fix the check engine lights. I plan on changing the sensor, solenoid and cleaning the IACV. Hopefully that will solve my issues. The car drives perfect though. No problems so far, fingers crossed.

freakin sweet find! Those rims are rad. Are those an old team dynamics? cant tell from the pic. I think your attack plan sounds like the winning ticket. assuming everything else is in order, that should fix your problems and make your car run waaaay better.

Thanks! The wheels are Speedline 2118's. I run them on my WRX for winter since they are 15's. The car is very comfortable to drive. I just want to change some small things that will improve the car a lot. Like the steering wheel and rear view mirror. Overall it's a great car.

I didn't know a 15 inch rim would clear wrx calipers. good to know. I don't have a set of proper rally rims so I will definitely look into a set of those

Some rally wheels do clear wrx calipers, but virtually all 15s don't .

I have 4/2 pots on my WRX for winter and the Speedlines are designed to fit over them. Pretty much any 15 inch rally oriented wheel is made to fit over those brakes. Speedlines, Team Dynamics, Compomotive are the major brands people run.

I took the car today to get inspected. All they check is emissions and I failed! Everything passed except idle emissions. I was so close to passing. I'm going to put some seafoam and injector cleaner in and hopefully it will pass.

several years ago I passed in California and I was catless and straight piped. Although I did get dinged for decibels. You probably just need a new o2 sensor.

I recommend clearing the codes, driving the car, and then checking again to see what codes return. Typically you start with the lowest number code, which would be the coolant temp sensor. This would also likely cause you to fail your emissions if it is bad.
So try that and see how things go.
