Hi All,

New to the forum, and first time owner of Subaru.
Recently i purchased one of my dream cars .
1st Gen Subaru Legacy.
More specifically 1990 Subaru Legacy L
Granted i would have loved an RS but thats life and i only payed $700 for my L.
I will post pictures soon. She is not pretty, but she has potential.

I have been around Subaru's for a while now helping friends working on their cars. Also worked with a Subaru master mechanic helping him work on things. (learned a-lot, have much to learn).

Plans for the Legacy are lengthy, so i hope to get into the community to offer assistance to others and get advise from the great people on the forum.

Ok so i got a chance to start looking over my new car and take some pictures.
i found a rats nest of the wiring, a code 22 Knock Sensor, and a coolant leak that was not there the last couple short drives I wen on. Non the less, i am still happy with my new Legy. As I promised i got some pictures of the car.

What fogs are those? The look like the dealer option for 90-91, but you clearly dont have the fog light switch that came with those.

They look just like aftermarket fogs as the switch for them is where the air suspension blank is located.

I am not sure what fogs they are (i think they are sylvania) i will check and let you all know.
and Josh is right the switch is in one of the blank plates.

I'm not too keen on the color. but since the body is clean, i picked it up.

I decided to pull the engine to replace gaskets and to do preventative maintenance. (if anyone has any suggestions, feel free to comment) or come and help. Ill provide Pizza :smt023
Also i plan to do a manual swap as well.

Oh and i just want to say thanks all that contribute to this forum. i have been scouring the forum for guides and information and its been great help.

Small update.
I have almost completely stripped the interior of the car. Still have the dash in place, but that will be coming out as well.
I will attache some pictures soon.
In the mean time the money for the project is coming slow, and finding the parts i want for the car is a bit frustrating.
that being said, i did my self a new Titanium key. starting small.

Didn't think that key would work in our cars-(getting that cut will destroy the machine-most subie dealerships won't touch them)

Those keys can be cut to fit our cars. The handle is titanium, but the blade itself is the usual key material (brass?).

A key that was less likely to bend or break sure would be nice though. I sometimes struggle to get my cars unlocked in freezing conditions(maybe keyless entry is the answer).

That's what I did, for that particular reason.
Cost me a whole $14

My lights flash, and I even added a remote trunk release, and a small beeper like modern Subaru's have for locking and unlocking.
