Cel with fresh robtune

So I just installed the 550 tune and my cel was flickering as soon as I turned the car on. I'm throwing 45 and 24.

So I know 45 seems to be a more common code here and I have been reading up on it.

Here is a picture of the sensor

So from what I understand that hose is supposed to be connected? Mine it just cut and melted.... not sure why I'm thinking maybe because of the boost controller? I bought the car with an apexi avcr man boost controller.

As far as the air control valve goes, should I just clean it like it says on nasioc? It's pretty dirty

Update **

Light is still on. It just flickers constantly as soon as it's started. Never goes away. I noticed that during wot especially In second and third, the car seems to be bogging. Hard to explain really it just hesitates while the rpms build during boost. I have the boost set at 1.15 bar but I seem to only be hitting 1 bar... I don't hear any ticking or misfire either.

Thoughts??

Are you circling the hose coming off the pressure exchange sensor? or the boost control solenoid?

On automatic 1st gens, there is a silver rectangular resistor that goes on the back of that bracket. It happens to have the same plug as the BCS. I think I remember having that code until I plugged it in. Basically the ecu is asking the BCS if it's working, and the resistor gives it the response it's asking for.

The circle is the bcs

The car is 5 speed swapped but I'm assuming that shouldn't matter?

With the resistor plugged in, the BCS isn't in the system any more. And your car being manual now won't affect the resistor.

So why would I be getting the cel?

It might have gone bad, or it is giving the ecu a response that is out of the expected range.

Did you modify the MAP ground as shown in this post? http://bbs.legacycentral.org/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=43959

Yes I did modify the map ground.. still having the same issue. The car runs and drives like normal still. Here is a video of the cel

Another update... the car worked for a while with no issues. Now I can't get the car past 5k rmp at all. Doesn't matter if I'm in boost or not. It's like the launch control is stuck on constantly. Any ideas? My cel isn't on but when I connect the black plugs I still get 45 and 24

I'll try to post a video later

I just got a new maf installed along with a new bpv since my old one was cracked. I also cleaned the iac. Yesterday I reset the Ecu and cleared the codes and 24 is the only code that stayed. I'm going to replace the speedo cable today after work to see if that helps. Any other suggestions?

Well today on the way to Chicago my cel came on again doing around 80 mph so I put it in neutral like I usually do (typically the light goes away after a few seconds in neutral) but this time the car just died. I pulled over and tried to start it but it doesn't turn over at all. It just cranks. I plugged in the black connectors but there are no codes... pretty frustrated right now luckily I have a buddy who came to give me a tow

I had an issue where I would lose power and usually I could get it to come back. One time it just died and I had to leave it sit for a little while before it would start. It turned out to be my MAF sensor. Even if you don't get a code for it, if you can find a spare you may want to try that.

That's what I originally thought was the problem and I did replace the maf a few weeks ago

After you towed it and got it home did it start up or was it still not starting?

Ok, I'd suggest starting with the basics, see if you have spark and fuel.

Okay final update as of 2/27

So I finally got around to diagnosing everything. I figured out the fuel pump was not priming. So I bought a new walbro pump and replaced the old one. That made no difference (waste of 80 dollars) so I checked the relay and voltages to the pump and everything was getting power. Which meant the ecu wasn't powering the pump for some reason

after chatting with Rob for a while he had me send in the ecu to test it out. Turns out there was a dead power resister which shorted out. He replaced it and ran it in his car with no issues. I then checked all wiring for the fuel system and ecu on my car

I'm pretty sure I saw somewhere on the forum here who was having similar issues with their pump (not sure who posted this originally) that if you bypass the connection under the rear seat for the pump, the pump would prime. So that exactly what I did.

this is the bastard right here

While I waited for the ecu to get back I finally installed the the td05 and tmic!!

A few days later I got the ecu back, plugged her in, and she fired up first try!

I also replaced the speedo cable since I had the dp and tmic off anyway. Hoping maybe that would fix the launch control being stuck on.

I am very happy to say It is no longer throwing any codes and the launch control is no longer stuck!

Big thanks to Rob for all your help figuring this out.Your the man! It feels good to have her running again after a long month
