Hey guys, I have a 92 wagon with the ej22e, 5mt and I think its time for a new engine.. I have been doing some research about possible swaps. I see a lot of ej22t to ej20g swap info and "guides," but I am not familiar with the legacy ss. Is the swap similar or should I go with a different rout? Thanks for any advice in advance

Welcome to the BBS.

The swap should be similar. There will be little differences and things that need to be done, but I can't think of any show stoppers. The main difference will be the ignition and having to rewire things for coil on plug vs. wasted spark.

Okay great! That shouldn't be too difficult. Thank you for the info. If I do find myself stuck somewhere I know where to ask.

Dont forget to acquire the turbo related sensors! (map, pressure exchange etc). If you plan on putting a different turbo specific transmission in, you will more than likely also have to go to a hydraulically actuated clutch. Doing this same thing as we speak, just a 22t instead of a 20g. Good luck!!
