Hey everyone, it's been a while but it's good to be back on the forum!

Had a simple question. Is it possible to replace the oil pan gasket (93 Legacy AWD) without pulling the engine? I've been looking underneath and I think I may be able to raise the engine just enough with a jack, in-between where the tranny meets the block, to get clearance to reach all the bolts on the pan.

Let me know what you guys think. I don't want to pull the engine just for the oil pan and I don't have anything else really that needs replacement.

Yeah I've heard about it being done that way.

I've pulled the pan before in the car. I needed to loosen one of the rods to rotate the engine so I can remove the flex plate nuts. The car was free and I needed a 4eats.

You can do it, but it's not fun.

Yes, it's not that bad. Remove the forward bolt on the pitch stop mount. Remove each nut and washer from motor mounts. Jack the motor up with a block of wood on the oil pan. Insert a 1"x1" something between the mounts and cradle. It will still be tight coming out but it's not that bad. When going back together I usually hammer the lip on the baffle back just a hair. You'll see what I'm talking about when you have the pan loose
