Ej22t rebuild. Intake valves being held open?

Hey guys I’m new but have always used this site for information in the past. Anyway I just freshsened up at ej22t but didn’t really do much to the heads other then a light polish and valve seals . The rocker arm assembley was not disassembled and now when I put it back together it always holds 2 intake valves open on one head no matter where the cam is in its rotation... the buckets were never even pulled out an there’s no possibility the valves are mixed up. I’m sure it’s something simple and I’m just stupid ... hope so anyway. Will get pics in morning.. any input would be greatly appreciated

It sound like the HLA’s are just fully pumped up, they should bleed off when you start it.

Any chance someone could tell me why my old headgaskets say ej22b and the heads have 22b stamped into the aluminum under the valve train ??

So I should of made this post about help in general lol the headgaskets I have from an ITM EJ22T head rebuild kit do not fit at all, almost done of the coolant passages line up, is it just a shitty gasket set or is my block not what it’s supposed to be or something? I’m gonna get some pictures up as soon as I figure out how
To post them LOL

Just get an imgur account. Easy to post pictures that way.

I like to use OEM head gaskets. I'm weary of most aftermarket HGs like Felpro from reports of them failing. It could be due to bad installation, not resurfacing the heads properly, etc.

If your aftermarket HGs don't line up with your old HGs then don't use them.
