If I were to run 550cc Top feed injectors, instead of running the adapters for the yellow top side feed injectors, would the 550 tune still work? I found some 550cc top feed injectors online awhile searching around

I don't think the injector latency (dead) times are going to be the same between the side & top feeds. If you can find that information about both types of injectors you could clarify that.

Are you planning on using a different intake manifold? If not I think fitting the top feeds on there would take a lot of work.

I read somewhere that too feeds would work on the stock fuel rails without the adapters. Maybe I read wrong. Phase 2 adapters seem to more commonly available then I thought. Probably would end up being easier to get the yellow tops and adapters.

Top feeds will not work on the first gen Legacy fuel rails.

What adapters are you thinking of using?

One of the kits I found is by a company called Deatschwerks, haven’t looked around the fourms to see if any one else has used them.

That kit is for the Newer Subaru manifolds. I don't know if they would be a direct fitment on our cars without some work.

I’ll take a look at the injectors and see if it looks like it’ll bolt up

The tune was developed with a specific set of hardware in mind. Deviating from that exact list of parts is a gamble I would not be interested in taking.

That’s why I’m thinking I’m going to go with Robs adapters that he sells, he mentions that deatschwerks work aswell, but are a bit more pricy.

What intake manifold do you currently have, Jimbo?

I don’t have the exact part number, but it’s the stock manifold on a V1 Ej20G

Ahh. all you need to do to use phase 2 sidefeeds is ej25d (all years, 96-99) rails. I know you were talking about retrofitting top feeds, but Rob's conversion kit does the same thing as using ej25d rails on an ej20g manifold.

Gotcha, so it’d probably just be easiest to run robs adapters. I can’t seem to find the ej25d rails anywhere, but maybe I can find them at a junk yard somewhere around here
