Looking for Transmission/ differential info

Post by icrman »

After watching this, I started looking for any special tools for the 4eat, no luck yet.
Any good ideas where to find the tool for what is shown in this video?
And yeah what he is doing is not a good idea, as the ring and pinon back lash needs to be checked when doing this.
I am also curious about the pinion depth and contact pattern when doing a transmission overhaul?

Bearing tolerances are fine enough that you should be able to mark the preload adjusters, swap bearings and return the preload adjusters to their original point.

While we're on the subject.... Will phase 2 4EAT differential ring and pinions fit phase 1 4EATs?
'93, '93 and '94 Legacy L, wagons, FWD and AWD, all are NA 2.2 w/ 4EAT.

Also, I suspect that the bearing replacement didn't solve his problem and that the wear is actually in the splines of the stub shaft.
