Replacing that idler pulley on the alternator

'94 Legacy Turbo Wagon -EJ22T.
Replacing that idler pulley on the alternator. Which means the belt adjuster bracket has to come off the block. Those iron bolts have been in that alloy block for 24 years. That’s scary, should I warm the engine a little bit or fully first? The alternator & belt were replaced in Sep-2020. Any hint’s from those that have been there - done that?
