I have this same type of problem on my US spec '92
Turbo also. Although I have yet to get any type of
boost controller... I will have good boost (factory
8.7) for a period of time... and then out of the blue
usually when I am driving it will drop to around 6 psi
for who knows how long (it has ranged from 2 hours to
two weeks). Since you don't use the boost solenoid I
am assuming that my problem is not the factory
solenoid either. Perhaps the wastegate is failing? My
knowledge of turbocharged cars ends at the theroy of
turbocharging. If anybody has any other ideas please
let me know. It's no fun driving at 6 psi.
