New guy needs help

Hello all. Im new to this list. I currently own a
1995 Nissan 240sx but on Friday Im buying a 1991
Subaru sport from my cousin. Other cars that I have
owned in the past include a 1995 Subaru legacy LS and
a 1991 ford escort. My question is where can I begin
to research the 2.2l turbo. Are there any WebPages
that have reviews on these items?

Intercooler
Cat back exhaust
Headers
Suspension setup
Under driven pulley
intake

Who generally has the best prices on these items in
the US and Canada? If there are any recommendations
for which to buy please let me know. Also what kind of
hp and trq increase should I expect from adding those
items? Are there any do it yourself mods out there?
Any WebPages that explain how to do them?

Thanks
John

O boy The header will set you back about $1800.00! Intake is usually not
necessary just a KnN filter. Good luck. Dan 92 LE Wagon

P.S. If you find a cheaper header please let us know. thanks

Welcome, i think i might have pointed you here from the i-club, glad
you made it!

Check out my page, Legacy Central and Turbo-Centric at
http://www.xmission.com/~dac &
http://www.xmission.com/~dac/centric.htm

I'm in the middle of a few of those same projects, with the UD and
Suspension almost done, and about ready to give up on the intercooler
because it's such a pain in the ass.

Cat-back is nice for an NA car, but turbo-back works a lot better on,
well, turbo cars.

Headers...expensive. You can find them here and there, but they're
usually over $1000US and haven't shown a major improvement. Usually
they're a lot lighter though, but this isn't a Civic we're talking
about.

Intake. JC Sports *should* be making more of what they did for me.
Although it's not the pretiest thing, it's effective and relatively
cheap at around $150US.

JC has a huge market for US Legacy Turbos, as there are a TON in
Colorado. Everyone else is concentrating on the Impreza much more.

Hope this helps for the moment.

Hello-I bought my Borla header from JC Sports (Cobb tuning has them also) for $500 including late Impreza cats (for the 90 degree turn off the collector). They`re for an NA motor but the local turbo guy is going to use them with his T3 turbo set-up so I don`t lose the efficiency of the headers. BTW, this was one of the best improvements for power I`ve done on the car. I just found out that JC Sports also has oversize throttle bores for 2.2 & 2.5 intakes. Call & talk to Kevin. Hope this helps--ROD (No. Az.)
