a couple of questions, tranny

Hmm, You should find lots of info on Transmissions here. I have mine apart
now having blown 1st and 2nd. The scyncros are about $60 (cdn) or so. I
think they are cheap insurance. You will need several tools to do it. Once
you get the transmission out and removed the oil, you have to remove the
rear box, this contains the center diff. Then remove the bolts holding the
two halfs of the case together. When you are ready to open it up, you need
to lay it on its left side (looking at it from the tail forward to the bell
housing) and the case opens up towards you. This is a far as I have gotten.
I did investigations and found out what was wrong on my transmission when
another good transmission appeared for sale for the same price and fixing
mine. I know I was lucky. The transmission has turned into a
after-race-season-to-be-completed project. I was going to order the parts
and give the transmission to a local shop to replace the parts and
re-assemble it. I didnt want to get shafted by any transmission shop.
