A/C Compressor Cycling, Part 2
Posted: Mon Jul 30, 2001 3:45 am
Okay, got the hoses in and checked the system. It turns out it was running a little low, but it was no where near empty. I filled it up to aprox 155PSI on the high side, according to the temperature/pressure chart I copied out of a dealers service manual
. Anyway, while the system is running considerably cooler then before, I'm still getting the compressor cycling problem. Near as I can tell, it's either the high/low pressure switch (which appears to be working correctly) or the evaporation thermo switch. I dont believe it is the compressors shutoff thermometer, due to the fact that the A/C cut relay is firing and the shutoff thermometer is further up the line. Now, according to the manual, its supposedly connected somewhere inside the firewall, near the blower motor resister. I, however, have been totally unable to locate it. Am I looking for the right thing and if I am, where the heck is it?
Thanks.
