is it possible to swap a 5 speed manual transmission with an
automatic in a 92 legacy turbo? would it be worth the trouble and
the money or should i just learn to love my automatic?

I did it in my '91.

It was a lot of work - you need to change the dash, ECU, center
console, and entire pedal set as well as the transmission. In my opinion,
it was worth it, but it *is* a lot of work.

Heh, my dealership quoted me $6,000 CDN to do it.

Find a willing friend and take a couple week-ends to do it yourself.
