I am looking at an engine thats either from a 94 jspec legacy turbo
or 94 jspec impreza turbo. Its not supposed to be from a wrx or
sti. It is a single turbo, it has an air/air IC, which i believe to
be stock, and its closed deck. It is stamped on the engine "EJ20" no
g or anything. Does anyone know or know how i can found out which
this is from, and what is the stock boost and redline, as well as how
much boost can I run w/o getting into an engine rebuild?

Legacies were all A/W because of the smallish hood scoop, as far as i
know.

If it's closed deck, it might be one of the EJ20-RA engines, and
those are very hard to find because they stopped making them shortly
thereafter.

Stock boost is probably in the high teens, but with a closed deck and
all of the enhancements the RA block had, they can go much higher.

FYI - 1989 Subaru legacies both Turbo and non turbo had closed decks,
well in New Zealand anyway.

Yes apart from that some RA and some STI models were the only others
to have closed decks.
