Twin Turbo Legacy
Posted: Wed Sep 05, 2001 10:42 pm
Hi,
I've got a 1994 Legacy GT (Jap Import). I am wondering what upgrades
are available for it as I've heard that primary turbo failure is a big
problem with big bore exhausts. I'd also like to know what the actual
primary and secondary turbo specs are???
is the primary an IHI RHF4 (this is the only number I can see on the
turbo casing without taking off the heat shield), or is this the
secondary ?
Is this the standard primary turbo for this car, as according to the IHI
site this is a ballbearing turbo and I thought the Legacies had
ceramics.
If anyone is able could they also point me to groups which discuss these
cars in more detail as I understand that this group is primarily for the
earlier single turbo cars

If anyone is interested I have uploaded two high res pictures one of my
twin
turbo car and the other of my new twin turbo gearbox (for my other
single
turbo Subaru) the gears are a funny colour because they have been shot
peened for greater strength. Have almost finished this now, just need to
put
the diff bearings on the front diff.
