problem with JCSPORTS - pulley

Has anyone had any problems with jcsports like I have? Last week I ordered a lightweight pulley from jc sports on the internet. Well Kevin tried to call me a couple days later and I wasn’t home. I ended up calling him about 10 times and even faxed him and finally I was able to get a hold of him today. He gave me an attitude from hello. And now I’m really pissed off. On there website they sell a singe pulley for $159 well a whole week later he decides to tell me that they can not break a pulley set anymore and it will be $270. So now I’ve been without a car for a week and was expecting the pulley to arrive by Friday. Has anyone had any trouble with JC sports? What kind of customer relations is that? I’ve gotten numerous viruses from that company because they will not take me off their mailing list and now he wont even sell what he advertises. Does anyone know who sells the cheapest priced pulley or pulley kit? I’d rather not give JC sports my business now or ever… sorry I ha! d to vent somewhere

John

JC is, and always has been, flaky at best. They're overworked and
terminally understaffed, and it's their own damned fault.

I'm running a prototype intake they made, with promises to get a
revised one and to have it for sale relatively soon. The intake is
on, but repeated inquiries as to the status of one that fits better
and some kind of production run always result in the "well, Joel is
busy lately and hasn't been able to put them together..."

BS.

Buy the Unorthodox kit from Cobb Tuning.

JC = Just Cruise on to the next place. Crap. I have yet to see
anything of worth come out of thier shop. Ever. And I spend
upwards of 8 hours a day cruising the internet for car goodies.
(what else am I supposed to do? I work the helpdesk at the world's
largest software company!)

If you must get the underdrive pulley, get one of the Unorthodox
ones. We've had this discussion before. I still don't think that
an un-dampened pulley is a good idea.....

Later,

Join the club,

They have had poor customer relations for more than 4 years now, since when I dealt with them. Supposedly they shaped up....however as you can see with yourself, they are still lacking.

I have been told by people that are near JC Sports that they are ok to deal with as long as you are in the area.

problem with JCSPORTS - pulley

honestly, not that I can think of.

Jc Sports has the possibility of being a good supplier of aftermarket subaru stuff, they have alot of stuff that other people don't, now whether that stuff is well crafted/engineered, I do not know, and as they have proven time and time again, their customer relations just sucks ass.

problem with JCSPORTS - pulley

Posted: Thu Sep 06, 2001 9:25 pm
by Rod Grosvenor
John-another idea: Unorthodox now has a light, standard diameter crank
pulley where you save the weight & use your stock belts (same price as the
underdrive pulley) and still receive the HP benefits. I`ve had my u/d pulley
for over a year with no problems. It is, however, possible to have a future
problem with an undampened pulley--won`t know until the future sometime.
Hope this helps-ROD (AZ.)
