Ok for all EJ22t owners:
I spent some 4 hours today comparing North American wiring harness for the
2.2 and the ej20t harness. What I have come up with is this: the only
difference I have found is that the ej20t has the direct ignition spark
plugs versus coil packs. ej20t also uses a different air flow meter BUT it
is exactly the same wiring! Also, the O2 sensor is placed before the turbo
instead of after it. There is also a few differences in color coding but
they still lead to the same plugs.
SO, Monday night I will be attempting to start the car with the new engine
/ computer. If all works out well, I hope to see some other 2.2 owners
swapping over to the 2.0t. They are available in the
US, just email me and I can give you a phone number to call.
