This is a photo that Joel found on the Subaru Rally site. I was a guest of Subaru of America and Prodrive, the big race team from UK. Joel and I spent a heavenly weekend of pure gearhead indulgence. This is me riding with a famous rally driver sliding sideways at about 80 mph with the back half of the car on a narrow gravel road and the front half into the weeds. Several spectators and camera operators had to dive for their lives. I am amazed that anyone got in a shot, because thay were all leaping out of our path as we slid through their standing area. Karl, the driver never let up at all, he just kept his foot in it and steered out of it. Note that his steering hand is at about 5 O'clock, and he is looking very sideways, as we are basically using my side window as a temporary windshield. The out of focus spectators behind us are ducking because we are showering them with rocks. The position of the weeds relative to the car give an indication of how deeply we were into the sticks. This is undoubtedly the coolest 1/100th of a second of my entire life.

Umm... Whoa!

That was a close call for the dude taking that pic, assuming no telephoto lens...
