Hi Mark,

I was wondering if you ur engine light came on telling you that ur purge valve
was bad. I have a '92 turbo and according to Subaru it's my purge valve (this
was over a year ago) causing the light. I seemed to be getting different part
#'s for the Canister Purge Valve from different dealers. I've now recently
replaced by myself what I thought was the Canister Purge Valve but the light
still won't go away? Is the purge valve electronic at all?? What I replaced
was a little round thing that has a hose that connects to the Canister. It
sounds like it's the same thing u changed. Did you get ur's figured out?
Did ur light go off?? I disconnected the battery terminals multiple times and
the light comes back on sometimes immediately when I start it back up and
other times a few minutes later.

Can anyone help me with this? The light is just annoying the hell out of me
after a year plus of watching it!!!

Fred,
it sounds like you have changed the auxillary purge control valve.
Yhe purge control solenoid valve has a vacuum hose going to and from with an
electrical connection. It sits underneath the inlet manifold (left side
looking at the engine from the front of the car)
Follow the line from the charcoal canister, one goes to the aux purge valve,
one from the fuel tank and the third goes to the solenoid purge valve.

I have replaced the boost solenoid so far, made things better but I have to
figure out what is still wrong. I have to work on it this week. The car is
in being worked on, replacing bent suspension peices.
