Sunvisor help

I looked through the other subjects and did not see this addressed, although I know it is a common problem. Can anyone tell me if there is a way to repair the sunvisors that won't stay up? My husband does not want to spend the $65 to buy new ones. We have two Legacys that are doing without.

I think they are a necessity, and a safety issue. (One of the cars is driven by my daughter, the other by my son.) Thanks, Whippet's Wife (who has two brats, five legacys, an '87 three door coup, an"86 EA82 wagon, and an '83 turbo wagon. Fun stuff!

It's a common problem, it seems... One of my car's previous owners just put velcro on the visor and on the headliner; it's not the prettiest solution but it does make for safe driving.

Someone has supposedly come up with a fix. I posted on another board to try and find out what it is.....I forgot.
I did the velcro thing for a while.......after about 5 years i got pissed off and just bought a new visor.

I have a PERFECT fix, that is basically free and fully functional.
Ill take an image but with a little practice your coat hanger bending skills can be very good.
Basically with about 12 bends you can create a small hook that is hidden under the sunroof surround, only the small nub to hold the visor is visible. I painted mine and its not even noticable unless I point it out.
Ill grab my camera and show you guys. The best part about it is that even if you dont know its there you can pull the visor down without causing damage.

What's wierd is that mine are still fully functional. Actually, one of the wires on the drivers side has been severed so I don't have a functioning vanity mirror on my side, but who gives a rats ass? Not me.
