Larry, thanks for your reply, I already think of all those 3 levels
and I has another option like looking for a ej20t from Japan but I
don't think I will take this option since it may cost around $5000
Cad and that may put me just jump into another problem.
I already called CCR but the cost and the shipping to my home or the
shop cost me more then $5000Cad.
So, I now thinking get the engine to rebuild, BTW, whats the
different between the total rebuild and rebuild replace only the
crank bearing , should I made a total rebuild and what should
included in the total rebuild?

5000 cdn????
I did my swap for way less then that. about 3000 cdn brokerage and freight
included.
Motor: 1200 us plus freight includes intercooler, flywheel, turbo (bigger),
engine wiring, intake etc.
The rest came from New Zealand relatively cheap. You dont need another
transmission.
This begs the question however, if you had everything, do you have the
tools to install it?

Hi Mark, I would like to know more information. Do you still keep in
touch on the company who shipped the enigne to you? Could you ask the
company that how much will be the same set-up as you did!??
My budget will be no more then $3000 Cad and I could ask the shop to
install the engine to my car since I worked at that auto shop before,
so it won't take me too much on the labor.

Hi Ben,

The different between total rebuild and rebuild replace only the crank
bearing is what CCR does, or PAECO, or most rebuilders.
Check CCR website http://members.aol.com/CCRInc/RebuiltSubaruEngines.html
and read what they do under their heading CCR'S ENGINES ARE YOUR BEST BUY
Not to push CCR on you, just I know about them and their prices seem ballpark

As an alternative, I just spoke to someone out here near Los Angeles that specializes in high performance engines and plays around sometimes with Subys
that has an EJ22T with some light porting and polishing and heavy duty valve springs,
they may let it go for somewhere in the $2000 to $2500 Canadian dollar ballpark.
Don't know about shipping costs
