Exhaust GB Letter from Subspeed
Posted: Tue Nov 27, 2001 10:25 pm
Looks like things are rolling! Any ideas or questions? What kind of
downpipe do we want? I just got this from Subspeed:
-Zak
This email is very belated. Things have been very 'hustle-bustle'
around
here for the past couple of weeks and I am way behind on email.
A month (or a bit more) sounds fine. I need to clear a few things
from
the
work load before beginning the Legacy project. The interest that I
have
seen in the form of yours and Larry's communications is enough for me
to go
ahead with it irrespective of actual order commitments. I know how
hard
it
is to get a group of people to do something at the same time. The only
reason that I have not done anything with the car up to this point is
I
have been busy with EA performance and also because the car is my
wife's
daily driver; and she hate antyhting that makes a car louder. The
reality
of this is that you guys will probably have the exhaust systems
running
on
your cars while I am still patching holes on the original '92
exhaust;)
Once I work up a bill of material for the pipes I will be able to set
retail pricing. It is really hard to speculate at this point. Options
like
converters will simply be added to the cost of the unit. Have you
considered using a downpipe with no converter and using a centre pipe
with
a converter in the location of the stock second converter? This would
make
the car look like any other vehicle on the road from an inspection
stand point.
I will be digitizing the turbo outlet flange this evening so that
construction of the downpipe jig can begin. Please bear with me as
this
is
a time consuming process and I seem to be getting pulled in 1000
directions
at once these days.
Please pass this information along to the rest of the group so that
they do
not loose heart.
Feel free to continue to email me with questions or suggestions.
Regards,
Russ
