I recently had some power problems with my 91 turbo wagon.
One morning I drove to work as normal. The power of my car was normal
with the turbo giving a nice kick when I put my foot down. That
afternoon when I went to drive home I noticed that this nice kick
from the turbo had gone away. There was still go in the engine but it
felt like it was struggling to get the acceleration that it was used
to. The turbo itself seems fine, no smoke and its still spooling up
nicely.(standard boost). There is no major signs that anything is
wrong, just there is no real "kick" anymore. Its a mystery to me, and
no one else seems very helpful so far.

So guys, any ideas?

This might be a little far out but we had a n/a engine that seemed
to run fine but just didn't have power. Between myself and my partner
we had many years of working on these engines and were almost at a
total loss. I finally pulled the coil in desperation and there was a
small crack in the bottom of it. This thing had just about or had been
running on two cyl! You would be amazed how smooth the Legacy motor
will run on two cyl. So you might have a coil or ignitor problem I
would be suspicious of the ignitor as solid state items can be very
temp sensitive.

What about temperatures? In the morning it's bound to be colder, and with a
turbo engine that helps. in the afternoon, as it heats up, intake air is
that much more hotter.

If you're getting the same PSI but not as much kick, that's what i would
suspect. There is really nothing you can do about that but to pay your
weather bill.

Na, its not a weather thing. It does it regardless of outside temp.

Before when you excellerate hard it would surge forward with power,
now it just feels like a N/A engine.
