Just a few questions to throw out there. I have a
dimmed light in the dash. My speedometer has a dimmed
section at the top, which I cannot figure out. Are
there multiple bulbs back there? If not, what else
could be causing the dimmed section? The other
question that I have is: How do our sun/moonroofs
keep out water? Mine is leaking off and on and I
don't know whether it is caused by a blocked drainage
or something else that I can't think of. Has anyone
else had either of these problems? If so, I would
really appreciate any help that you guys can give.

Yes, there are multiple bulbs in the back of your gauge cluster. Good thing
too; otherwise if one light went out the whole thing would go!

Your sunroof is designed to leak actually. it leaks into a "pan" that's in
the rear part of the headliner. this pan has 4 drain paths, 1 in each -A-
pillar and one in each -C- pillar. these often get plugged up somewhere down
the path. As a matter of fact, i plan to be working on the sunroof of my
project car this weekend and will take as many pictures as i can of
potential blockages areas and how to access them.

Thanks for the info. The pictures would be greatly
appreciated. I haven't gotten any worthwhile
information from the Haynes manual that I have.
Please take as many as you can. I would also
appreciate the how-to, as I can forsee this being a
huge job. I'll check out replacing the bulb this
weekend. Thanks again.

My 94 model electric sunroof leaks. It's not down to the channels being
blocked as I can get a 6ft length of stiff wire down the channels all the
way to the outlets behind the front mud flaps.

I think that the problem is caused by shrinkage of the seal around the
glass. This allows water to lay in the tray around the aperature in the
roof. Strangely the drain holes seem to be too high up for the water to run
into them and so the retained water moves until it flows over the lip and
gets into the roof lining.

My car is now off the roiad for the winter and will be covered. Come the
spring I will get a new sunroof seal and see if that solves the problem.

Unfortunately I don't have the option of taking the
car off the road in the winter. I'm going to do my

Do any of you with leaky roofs want a new sunroof? If you live in the PNW,
you can have my old one from the rally car(was removed when cage was put
in). Just dont ask me to ship it, that is not something I want to do, most
companies dont want to deal with it as it is haevy and glass.

Just looking through old emails and came across this
one. Did you ever take the pictures that you
mentioned? I'm still having problems with the leakage
and need to get a fix before more rain comes through.
