Anyone (apart from Josh) using 205/45 16" tyres?? 205/50s are supposed to be the correct spec but they can be a pain to get. Yes, there's a little difference in rolling radius and hence speedo reading but I'm more wondering if the car will look a bit wierd - do the wheels look too small using 45s??

Why not go for 205/55/16 tires ? They're closer (12.4") to the OE
(12.1") rolling radius than 205/45's (11.6"). Or, if you insist on 45
profile tires, then wouldn't 225/45/16 (12" RR) be a better size?

what's your stock tire size? Since mine is FWD, I had 175/70 R14 which the 205/45 R16 tire was closest to my stock size. The 4wd had 185/70 R14 stock size, which is what I got as snow tire size...cause it was cheaper...they are an inch or so taller....My speed runs a little faster then I'm actually goin.....so depending on what your speedo does...faster/slower...you can get little larger....little smaller tire.

mines front wheel drive and I have 185/70 r14. I have just put 205/50 on 16s. if you want to get around it put some wider tyres on.

I recently put some 225/45-16s on my BF5 and they work well, though
my negative camber is keeping them from rubbing more than they
probably would otherwise. These are mounted on 16x7 Impreza RS
wheels, and work really nice. Good Kumho Ecsta 712s too!

Did you have to roll your rear guards. My mate has 17" with 215s on his BC.

So you want low profile tires! :-) Do you like your alumium rims? Are
you good at missing road hazards? Do you go off road? Just some good
questions you should ask yourself. I have 45's on 18" wheels, since I
have put them on I bent 2 rims and split 1. At $565.00 a rim you learn
to watch every rock and pebble in the road(Oh Ya a piece of 3/4 plywood
in the road at 60 mph instant flat spot, and a vibration)! I would go
with 50 series if I had to do it again. :-) $.25 worth. Dan

Dan,

Do you get much rub with those 18"'s? Did you roll the fenders?

Sambo:
No rub! :-) The 18"s & 45 are the same size as the original 15" wheels
tires. And yes I did roll the fenders. =-] Dan
