I'm just dragging this out of the depths to see if anyone has more info. on the STi RA Legacies, or the Prodrive edition. Mainly how they differ to the U.S. spec Legacy Turbos.

Did they have any significant power increase over the standard Liberty RS? Or was the difference between the two mainly in the suspension?

If someone wants to try to make some sense of the translation, this page might be of use:

RS-RA is a very limited production model that was hand built to the specs they used on the 100,000km record attempt vehicle. It got forged pistons, stronger connecting rods, ported and gapped intake & exhaust ports, some stiffer bushings & spring/damper rates, a variable ratio power steering box, hand balanced: crank, flywheel, & clutch cover, along with some special color engine components.

If you could find one of these wrecked, it would be a virtual goldmine of valuable hardcore Legacy parts. Everything above was gleaned from the article that vrg3 posted.

So the RS-RA engine is the EJ20G according to that article and put out 20 hp more than the normal turbo engine. I seem to remember someone on here having that engine in their Legacy.

the only diffrence from this engine to the aus spec liberty one is, the RA has forged pistons and rods, same VF12 turbo, yellow top injectors, and it runs 16-17psi standard!!

That's what I thought the first time I saw it, but without seeing the center vertical section I wasn't going to call it

Lancer Wing ?!? :(

That's.... that's... why did he do that?

Why :?:

It's not a Lancer wing, looks more like an aftermarket cheapie that's readily available for the "boy racer" fraternity here in New Zealand......

The Legacy that owns it is a "GT 4WD" (according to the badge), which means EJ20G, VF-10 turbo & 4EAT trans......The RS sedan has the same EJ20G but a bigger VF-8 turbo & 5spd trans only.....

How does the VF10 compare in size to the turbo on the US legacy turbo sport? I know its another rhb5 but I can't remember whether the us is a VF12 or 11 or what. Anyways, which is bigger?
thanks
