DUMB MECHANICS

AS I HAVE SAID IN PAST POSTS I WAS TOLD AT MY LAST INSPECTION THAT AN OIL LEAK I HAD WAS MY CAM SEALS.OK SO I WAS SAVING TO REBUILD FRONT OF ENGINE,SEALS PUMPS TIMING BELT,BUT HADN'T DONE IT YET.SO THIS LAST WEEKEND I CHANGED MY OIL AND NOTICED OIL DRIPPING FROM OLD OIL FILTER.SO I DO OIL CHANGE AND LOW AND BEHOLD LEAKS GONE.SO I DECIDE TO LOOK CLOSER AT TIMING BELT COVER AND THERE IS NOT A SINGLE DROP OF OIL ANY WHERE ON COVER

NEEDLESS TO SAY I WONT BE GOING BACK TO THAT GARAGE AGAIN!I DO HOWEVER HAVE SLIGHT LEAKS AROUND VALVE COVERS THAT UNDER HIGH RPM'S TEND TO LEAK ONTO EXHAUST MANIFOLD AND SMOKE WHEN I STOP.SO I GUESS I'LL PUT THAT MONEY INTO NEW VALVE COVER GASKETS.I JUST WISH I COULD DO MY OWN STATE INSPECTIONS THAT WAY NOBODY ELSE WOULD EVER TOUCH MY CAR!ANY WAYS I JUST THOUGHT MAYBE OTHERS WOULD WANT TO VENT THIER FRUSTATIONS/HORROR STORIES ABOUT DUMB MECHANICS TOO!

Okay let me try to remember everything that I have found screwed up since my clutch was fixed, then I'll make no more mention of it:
The clutch cable was tightened all the way down, way out of adjustment.
The throw-out bearing was not replaced.
The passenger front axle was mounted 180° off, and the pin was jammed in.
The pitch-stop mount was not attached in any way to the tranny, no bolt or anything.
The shifter was mounted on the body incorrectly and some bushings were left out of it.
Needless to say I will never allow that mechanic to even look at my car ever again!

The dumbass mechanics who rebulit my tranny messed up something and now my car is FWD, and to top it all off it cost 2100$

Sorry I wasn't really paying attention when writing post and by the time I noticed I didn't want to retype every thing

I have been told on occasion that i'm a loud mouth however

Hey 91white-t I read something once that automatic trans. have a Fwd fuse or something

maybe they put one in and didn't take it out.I don't know if you have an auto or not and if so you probably already checked, but thought it might help.I think the fuse is by the front passenger strut tower but i'm not sure I have a manual
