Well, as you probably know, I've been looking for a Legacy Sports
Sedan for a while now... and thanks to eBay, I've FINALLY found one
that would be pretty easy for me to go get. Here's a link:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/aw-cgi/ebayISAPI.dll?
ViewItem&item=600703161&r=0&t=0

Just copy and paste it all in your browser if it doesn't work...

Now what do you guys think? My finances are, well, not-so-good right
now, so I'd have to borrow the money from *gulp* my parents. The guy
has no feedback, so I'm a bit wary there. And I can't actually check
out the car myself.

Now, if anyone in the Chicago area wants to go and check it out for
me, I'd be much obliged. ;)

So? Should I go for it, or wait until my finances are a bit better
and try and find another one?

--Iain

Resist the urge.

Find what you really want, or something very close, and make
absolutely sure you can drive it and get your own impressions.
Buying cars from eBay is, well, wierd.

I couldn't wait once, got a 90L, didn't wait again, got a Touring
Wagon. I don't regret having the wagon, but i do regret not being
able to have one with a 5MT.

Now i'm looking at $3k to make one.

Wait...

Patience is a virtue they say. Hey Iain, I guess I am in the same
spot as you! I live in Winnipeg, and have been searching for a Turbo
Legacy right across Canada - Atlantic to Pacific - talk about
extremes.

Why I am looking is to replace my 91 Turbo with 295k kms (about
177000 miles) It actually runs pretty strong still (for me anyway).
Have the automatic but have never tried the standard so don't know
what I am missing there.

Where abouts in the US are you? If you are near the Canadian border
remember that your dollar goes along way here. Just like kilometers
to miles - multiply by 0.6 - maybe there is something closer to you
up
here in the great white north. Check "canadatrader.com", "trader.ca",
"buysell.com" (western Canada). Of course depending on where you are,
rust may be a factor on Eastern Canadian cars.

Right now I have search down to a few in Toronto where I have someone
who can check them out and a Turbo wagon in Vancouver where I don't
know anyone. The wagon is out front but like "legacycentral" says
"wait". I have been waiting for a while oh great one, but the force
of the dark side (of my 91 Turbo) is urging me to act fast before I
have to drive a lessor (non-turbo) vehicle. :)

I'm in Louisville, KY... not exactly close to the border. The reason
I'm so interested in the car in Chicago is that I KNOW noone around
here has one. The two Subaru dealers in town didn't even know they
existed, so they've probably never sold any. My only option is to buy
one from some other part of the country. If I can find one, that is.
Maybe I just don't know where to look?

Hey, if any of you know of one for sale near you for a decent price
(Ok, decent or LOW) could you let me know? I'd be interested, and
hey, I could even pay you to check it out for me if it looked
promising., ince I couldn't. That would definitely suit me better.
