This is from www.carpoint.com how do i know if i have
these problems?

"A common problem on this vehicle is failure of the
Canister Purge Control Solenoid, and an occasional
problem is failure of the Hydraulic Lash Adjusters.The
cost to repair the Canister Purge Control Solenoid is
estimated at $96.53 for parts and $26.00 for labor.The
cost to repair the Hydraulic Lash Adjusters is
estimated at $58.50 for one bank or $97.50 for both
banks for labor.All prices are estimates based on $65
per flat rate hour and do not include diagnostic time
or any applicable sales tax. "

The canistor purge control solenoid seems to be a chronic failure
item, they came out with a improved version but I have heard of them
failing also and they will trip a CEL when they go bad. What I did was
go to a wrecking yard and find a metal jacketed solenoid from a
1970-early 1980s Subaru with the same ports cleaned it up and
installed it myself. These solenoids will last forever as far as I can
tell.
