There is currently a thread on the i-Club discussing
the weight of the Legacy. I was just curious if you
guys know the weight of our beloved car?

OK, 2706 lbs doesn't sound right either. I know the 90-94 sedans have a
Curb Weight of 2950 lbs, US specs. Weather or not this is fully loaded (5
passengers at aprox 170 lbs each plus full tank of gas, 15 gallons at 7 lbs
a gallon), or just the car itself with a standard at say a half tank of gas
is a mystery to me. Anyone out there know for sure?

I always understood it to be 3100 lbs myself, but Subaru's "official" weight
is 2700lbs. I also understood that the new WRX was 3300lbs.

Usually the kerb weight of a vehicle is weighed in base model with no air
con attached and no liquids. I would say the turbo model has its own weight
to the N/A items.

I had seen info that put the weight right at 3100-3150 dependant on MT or AT models. The new WRX weighs about 3150, also. This is one of the key reasons I decided to keep my Legacy instead of getting a new WRX wagon. I`m still looking for my owners manual to hopefully confirm the info.---ROD (AZ.)

C'mon you guys!
I've had ALL of this information on Legacy Central for well over a
year, and some of it over two!
Go to the Library (
http://www.xmission.com/~dac/library.htm), and if
you can't find it there, you probably won't find it.
Now to answer the specific question: It depends... The 93 Legacy
Press Packet
(
http://www.xmission.com/~dac/library/93_packet_info.htm) has a list
of weights from 2,800lbs for 5MT FWD L Sedan, to the portly Touring
Wagon at 3,300.
I wish i could trim 500lbs from my car, but it's a small price for
stronger suspension bits, turbo engine, AWD and some luxury items
such as AC, Power everything and a sunroof. Then there's the beauty
that only a BF wagon can....er, sorry...
Anyway, check that stuff out to answer your questions.

The manufacturers listed weight is based on the
vehicle with the transmission that comes standard with
vehicle, usually manual, with all fluids, and no
passengers. This is info supplied by Intellichoice
and I am guessing that they don't weigh the cars
themselves but just use the manufacturers weight:
1992 L AWD sedan - 2980 lbs.
1992 LS AWD sedan - 3155
1992 LSi sedan - 3170
1992 sport sedan - 3140
1992 LS Wagon - 3275
1992 Touring LE Wagon - 3340
1993/94 Sport Sedan - 3100
2002 WRX wagon - 3165
2002 WRX sedan - 3085
The WRX weights supplied by intellichoice match up
exactly with the weights for the WRX given by Subaru.
Add about 50-60 pounds for auto transmission and maybe
a few more if A/C is present and you've got your
weight, minus all the crap in the trunk if anyones
trunk looks like mine.

That weight in the door is with 5 passengers and full fuel and such. Go to truck scales and weigh your car.
