Hi guys,
I'm new with the Subarus- but both my sons just bought right hand
drive Legacys-one a '93, one a '94 as they are mail carriers, and
they have lots of miles so we've been working on them a lot! Wonder
if you know...how to disconnect the automatic 4 wheel drive and put a
switch on the dash to turn the 4 wheel drive on and off at will.
The '93 has a left rear wheel chatter when throttling the engine on
dirt or pavement. We removed the rear drive shaft to stop the
hammering, which worked except of course no 4 wheel drive. thanks!

I'm assuming they are automatics. If so they'll have a little fuse holder on the passenger side of the firewall. It will have white lettering FWD on it. There is a spare fuse that you can stick in there and it will disable the AWD. You can run a jumper lead to this, and then to a switch. I would put a fuse in-line with this.

Hope that helps
