EJ22T ECU Driving an EJ20G Engine

This is what I have heard, from folks who have done the swap, but I have never done it myself. First of all, I know from personal experience that the ECU plugs are all the same, from wiring my AVC-R using just the EJ20 diagrams. If you want to use an EJ22T ECO to drive an EJ20, you have to use a fuel controller to shorten the injector pulses, as the EJ20 has bigger injectors and the EJ22T ECU will be running the injectors too often. Also, you have to use the coil packs off an EJ22T or even better, the coil packs off an EJ25. The EJ20 coil packs in the spark plugs won't work with the EJ22T ECU.

The coils do have to be changed but the fuel controller is
not nessasary as the EJ20 draws 10 percent less air through the MAF
and cuts the injectors back ten percent in duty cycle.

Its true that both ECUs have the same plugs (4 plugs: one with 26
pins, one with 16 pins, one with 12 and one with 22), but are the
actual pin locations the same for both? From the wiring diagrams i
have seen of the EJ22T and the EJ20G, some of the pins are used for
different things. Does anyone know for sure that the pin locations
are the same? Noah

Hi Bill,
I think you may be on to something on the injectors being larger does
anyone know for sure what size the EJ2.0 injectors are? I have two
figures and one would be out of the ball park as far as the MAF-ECU
ability for correction. I am working on a new version of the ex-JC
Sports Torque Chip that will have a feature that will allow a
adjustable straight fuel cut or increase and this should work in
cases
like this or when running larger injectors.

Turbo Legacy running gear.

Suabru have three injector sizes, they are blue, pink and yellow. I
can't remember what sizes each are.

Bill, You might be on to something with the bigger injector problem
on the EJ2.0 what size are these? I have two different figures and one
may be out of the ballpark on the MAF-ECU's ability to correct. I am
working on a new version of the ex-JC Sports Torque Chip that will
give a straight fuel cut or increase that would be ideal for
situations like this.

We can add two other colors with the US N\A Legacys of red and black
the turbo Legacy has the pink injectors.
