OK,
I spent all afternoon in my shop going over my EJ20. You see I have this
#$%# error code saying Pressure exchange valve and Pressure sensor. Well,
the Subaru mechanics had NO idea where they were so...

Idle Air Control on the EJ22T is on the right side of the throttle body (as
seen from drivers seat). It is bolted to the intake manifold on one of the
runners. It has 3 wires going to it. The top of the unit where the wires go
into it is not a sensor but a magnetically controlled(?) air valve. It opens
to allow more air into ??

On the EJ20T it is on the left hand side on a intake runner, same function
but the base part is not swappable, only the top unit is.

Pressure exchange solinode and the pressure sensor is not under the throttle
body that the manual shows (if it shows) it is over next to the boost
controlller. The boost controller is the "tube" behind your air box with 3
hoses going into it. Above it is a brown sensor (2 wires plug in) to it from
the throttle body. It then has a hose leaving it and going into a black
"cube" under it, this I beleive is the pressure sensor. It has 3 wires going
inot it. These 2 parts are the same on the EJ22 and the EJ20. Same part
numbers.

The boost controller can be "tricked" into giving you better response by
changeing the hose that goes to it from the exit side of your turbo. Cap the
nib on the turbo and supply the solinode with pressure from the downstream
side of the throttle body. Your turbo wategate wont kick in so fast, gives
you a better response.

Please correct me if im wrong...
Mark
