On motorcycles we used them to keep sunlight off of the clear reservoirs, as sunlight breaks down brake fluid. Motorcycles are obviously faster than cars, so their secret must be the wristband. Yeah I've heard that before even though I change my brake fluid once a year anyhow and it shouldn't go ba...

Yeah I think those are both good choices but I would go with the 16G myself because it spools up plenty fast and has more top end. It's a trade that's well worth it IMO.

The best picture I have of my crank doesn't show it very well. http://www.god-squad.net/gallery2/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=2780&g2_serialNumber=1 But that's an EJ22T crank and it only has one thrust bearing on the crank which is #3. The picture is bad but it doesn't look n...

How to increase compression

I had another thread where I was trying to figure out my compression ratio, and it's too low! I only get 7.66:1. The engine is an EJ22 with EJ20G heads off an 89 JDM Legacy, those come with the big 57 CC combustion chamber. How much could I safely shave the heads? .020"? I know I can put on a t...

Ej22 /w Ej20G heads and Wiseco pistons - compression ratio?

What is my compression ratio with .020 overbore Wiseco pistons in a Ej22 block with EJ20G heads? The heads came off a 1989 JDM Legacy. I'm pretty sure they are the ones with the 57 CC combustion chambers. This chart: http://www.nolimitmotorsport.com/wiseco/apps-Subaru.html Says the piston dish is -2...

I just rebuilt mine PM me if you have any specific questions just PM me. I bought the topline engine rebuild kit which comes with basically everything and I think it was like $450, plus I bought a set of pistons which were optional but they were like $600. The rebuild of the block and everything was...

The phenolic timing gears are for the EJ20K engines with a different type of cam position sensor. The metal cam gears are directly compatible with the legacy.

For $6,000 you could get a stock Ej257 and an EMS to run it on. The only EMS I have ever messed with is Megasquirt but I know Microtech Haltech and a bunch of others work. Megasquirt is just the cheapest but it doesn't offer very good support for IAC valves or knock sensing. Or you could get an EJ22...

I don't know how you guys are paying $600 for wisecos. You can get a custom set from CP or Arias for that. As for a certain piston making a turbo spool faster than another is pure BS. A lighter piston may rev a little faster, but it is not going to move the gases that much different to make the tur...

PM me your email address if you want pictures. Why use EJ20G heads on a 22B replica when the 22B used heads more similar to the V4 STI? I still can't see the pictures either. You have a PM. 22B heads would be nice if I can find them, I was lucky enough to get these heads! Try the pics again. My hos...

Possible to fix broken camshaft thrust journal?

So I am trying to do a 22B conversion on my 91 Legacy. Rebuilt 2.2 bottom end with forged Wiseco pistons in a .5 mm overbore, with Ej20G heads. I got the heads today from California (I reside in Alaska) and the boxes were real beat up. I pull out the heads and everything looks good until two little ...

I have heard CP pistons are lighter than the rest and spool the turbo more quickly. I bought a set of forged Wiseco's and yeah they were about $600 shipped, but that is overnight shipping to Alaska. They were the .040" overbore with rings and wrist pins. They are pretty heavy feeling too. So I ...
