Purchased the three lower clips for the grill from the local dealer, $2 each.

The lower outboard stud on the passenger side headlight was broken, so I swapped the headlights out with a set of EDM glass headlights that I had on the shelf.

Everything is pretty much back to normal.

Yeah, very lucky.

Daylight inspection reveals the bottom three grill clips broken, and lower outboard mounting stud on the passenger side headlight. The headlight is stable enough, but it could stand being re-aimed.

Touring Wagon vs. Wildlife.

I swapped my adjustable Whiteline rear sway bar from my 91SS over to my 94TW. While on a test drive after installing the rear sway bar I hit a deer! It was about 11:30 pm, on a twisty, dark, isolated road. I had run the entire road at slightly higher than normal speed. At the dead end, I turned arou...

So couldn't I just buy the 22mm and attach it using my stock endlinks? As I recall, no. The stock links are kind of Y shaped. I don't think they would work. I remember when I installed my rear bar, it all made sense. But that was a few years ago. It may be that the bolt through the end of the sway ...

Heat is not required, and should be avoided if possible. Use dental floss or light fishing line. Slip the string behind the badge. Use it to "saw" through the adhesive without bending the badge. Go slow, be careful, hold the ends of the string very close to the surface. Once you have it of...

...unless of course someone can confirm that the RSBs for the 91's and 92-94's are interchangeable (that way I could buy the WL 22mm RSB). The bar itself is interchangable, but the KIT is not. The difference between Whiteline BSR17x and BSR19x is the endlinks. The bar is the same but BSR17x, for th...

I've got the same noise. Previous owner had a new clutch installed just prior to my purchase. Local Subaru expert mechanic listened to it and thought it's either the throwout bearing (possibly not replaced when the new clutch went in) or maybe something is misaligned. His suggestion was to live with...

I know, I know. Thread from the dead.

Vikash's images are gone--

did anyone happen to document the pinout of the OEM head unit/CD link? I'm sure I can poke around and get it to work, but if someone grabbed his diagram it would be faster.

Thanks.

WTB: coin tray, black.

I'd like a nice condition coin tray in black. The one that opens up like a little drawer, it's over by your left knee.

Shoot me a price and a photo of what you have, please.

Thanks!

The brakes didn't "lock up on you." You locked up the brakes. It's 100% normal for a non-abs equipped car to be able to lock up the tires with enough force applied to the brake pedal. Assuming, of course, that everything is working properly. Without abs, in a panic stop situation, it is th...

I would expect any Subaru that old, even if low miles, to leak some oil. I figure if it's not leaking some, there's just not any in there to leak out (reference radial aviation engines). Valve cover gaskets, front and rear main seals, and cam seals are the typical sources of oil leaks. You may also ...

That's the one. Black face matches the stock Legacy instrumentation, black bezel = no bling, no distracting shiny-ness. I've got the same thing in my SS, set up just like Primeza as far as the manifold connection and ashtray illumination. It's worked just great for over 50k miles. If you tap into bo...

WRX sedan has slightly wider track than your Legacy, so when you put those struts on your Legacy you're giving up some negative camber. WRX wagon struts are a better choice as the geometry is nearly the same as your Legacy, so you can take advantage of more negative camber.

I have a WRX downpipe on my 91 SS. The installer welded in an O2 bung in the same location as the stock downpipe. It's worked fine for tens of thousands of miles. Seems to me that extending the sensor to the stock WRX location is more likely to cause out of range data for the ECU.

Now I'm really confused. I searched for BSR17XZ and it comes up with a 20mm rear sway bar for $245 but if I search for BSR19XZ it comes up with the same thing for $193. Something is not right here. It's the same bar, but BSR17XZ comes with special endlinks that work with the 91 lateral link. The 92...
