Name that sound!
I’m starting to hear a creaking sound from my front passenger brakes. It’s not a high pitch squeal. Its more like someone opening an old raggedy door. Any ideas anyone? It's only at 5mph or less that i can hear it.... loud too.
Does it do it when you're turning the wheel at all......or just goin in straight line......or doesn't it matter.
Could be a wheel bearing drying up. I'd jack up that corner....try jiggling the wheel and shaking it.
Also take a look at the pads....make sure they've got enough stuff left on them.

Its generally doesn’t matter unless I cut the wheel all the way then I don’t hear it… that could be because I’m moving too slow when I do that. My friend had about 15min between cars so he put it up on the lift. The pads check out ok. He put something on the slider or something like that… but the noise was still there. I’ll have to go back I guess.

I am 99.9% sure that it is your wheel bearings. I had the same "creaking" problem, and only after replacing the bearings did it stop. This is actually a harder job than it needs to be....to replace them, you have to take off the CV joints, ball joints, tie rod ends, brake caliper, brake rotors, and the shocks....then you have to take it to a shop to have them take the bearing out and put the new one in...unless you have a hydraulic press handy. Then you have to get an alignment since removing the shocks throws it off. I suggest replacing the shocks, ball joints, tie rod ends and maybe even the CV joints while you're in there....you should get a little better handling by doing that too. I also suggest getting the bearings from the dealership....I did not and they started creaking again after only about 5,000 miles if even. I am sad to say that I will have to go back in there and replace them again with dealership bearings ...So replacing your front wheel bearings should solve the problem

If the pads and rotors are all ok....i'm pretty sure it is your bearings. when mine were making noise, there was a sweet spot on the brake pedal where it would make the noise the loudest and most defined usually when the pedal is pressed lightly or medium. It also had a pattern that was consistant with the speed of the wheel. Does it go away when you press the brakes hard? How much are you hearing it? while driving, braking, turning? how far is the brake pedal pressed when you hear it?
