Here is a crappy picture of our latest project to the Legacy! Getting it all ready for the night ice race this weekend!

Wow, it has been a while since our last update!

The UEL header was installed along with the 06-07 WRX intercooler just in time for our last RallyX race! The car ran great, we couldn't have asked for to much more!

Next race in this weekend and we are hard at work again changing/improving/fucking up things. Tonight we were working on a battery relocation since our Subie battery took a crap. We are a Euro shop so we have a lot of BIG Benz batteries laying around that do not fit into the factory location. So we made a relocation kit in the trunk that will fit pretty much any size battery if we wish to change it in the future!

We scrapped the crap out of the sound deadening in the spare tire well. We needed to get it clean to weld in the new bracket.

Image

Painted it to make it look so Fresh so Clean!

Install Battery

Decided to make the trunk usable again, so we modified the tray to fit.
Image
Image

We also scored some new rubber! 195-65-15 Pirelli PZero rally tires!!

Thats it for now... We have a few more days to get a couple more things done. On the list of things to do are: make and install mud flaps, intercooler sprayer (if we have time), MORE BOOST!!! (manual boost controller), install skid plate (modify to clear header), fabricate and install fender braces.

Looks good. I like the fact you put the tray in to cover the battery back up.

One suggestion I would make is running a negative lead to the front of the chassis to minimize resistance. There will be a difference in resistance between the front and back of the car. Since the sensors and ECU ground in the front of the chassis, it would be better to ground the battery in the front of the car. That will minimize the voltage drop the ECU and other components see.

Wish I woulda seen this a while ago. Just now read through it. Great project! I probably would've been able to offer you some of the parts you needed, I've got a VF8, 440 injectors and a topmount I'm looking to get rid of. Good luck and keep us updated.

Yup! We just ran it like that for now to move it around the shop. Still need to run the ground to the dash and put in a battery cut off, then out to the motor and chassis.

Got a few more things done on the car last night! We decided to call it quites and not mess with the boost controller or the intercooler sprayer, we will leave them for another day.

Here is a picture of the UEL Header!

Thanks man!

I need to research injectors still. We are currently running the stockers with a tdo4 on stock boost w/ a JECS maf and matching ECU. We have some 800's laying around that we were thinking about using if we ever go DOHC, vf39 and standalone EM.

People love this car! Always get compliments on it, and questions. There has not been a race where we have not been asked "what motor did you swap in that thing?" Or "They came with a turbo?"

Ice racing season is upon us! We are working on a set of studded tires for this beast! We also have a Optima battery that needs to get installed since our other one is STONE DEAD!

Studded tires are DONE!

Image

These things are AMAZING! We could use a few more studs per tire for a little more grip, but other then that these things are freaking great. They have been mounted now for at least a month with one race on the studs and not one pound of pressure has been lost.

We got our BIG day/night ice race coming up here soon! We got somethings to get done to the car before the race. I am also afraid that our alternator is going bad....

Things I want to get done before the race:
-Install and tune the MBC
-Make/Mount a turbo heat shield
-HID install into our off-road lights
-Install more studs into the tires
-Fuel Cell????????
-Push button start (ignition switch is going bad)
-Install Electronic battery cut off switch

We have been experiencing some electrical issues at the races and could never duplicate them at the shop. Went to pull the car in the other day and guess what, it didn't want to start! EXCELLENT! This means we can finally track down the problem! Got the car inside and checked the battery, it only had 11v. OK, replaced the battery (we keep putting in old batteries that we have taken out of customer cars into it because we are too cheap to buy one) with a donated Optima and VROOM, starts right up like a champ. Threw the VAT 40 on the car to test the charging system and low and behold, the alternator was charging at 12.5 volts and discharging by 2amps! Now I have tested the alternator a few times before and it passed with flying colors BUT the problem was never present. So we ordered a new alternator and tossed it in. All is good now!

FIXED!
Image

Now it is super duper important that this got fixed because in 2 weeks we have a night race and have to have enough juice to power these bad boys...
