The wheels should fit just fine. What size tire are you planning to run? The stock WRX tire 205/55 r16 is a tad tall and may rub on the spring perch.

hello guy i am currently looking for a set of 17 inch but
i am wondering right now i have for winter 205/r15/65
and over some bumb i hear it touching the fender or inside
i have brand new KYB Gr2 on H&R spring the gr2 is for legacy
so my question is if a 225-45-zr17 would be worst
edit:
i think i found my answer
Combo 1: '02 WRX wheels
Wheel size: 16x6.5"
Offset: +55
Tyre: 205/55-16 Pirelli P-Zero Nero M+S
Suspension: KYB GR-2 struts, H&R springs
Alignment: stock specifications
Rubbing: slight rubbing at full lock
so the max out would be 16 inch that suck....

Looks like it should fit comparing it to my wheels which were about max sized.

What's the wheel offset?

Buying tires can be a pain since they do cost, but you should try to convince yourself it's worth it. It's a safety issue, they're the only thing between your car and the road. They stop the car, the brakes are just for slowing the wheel/tire assembly. Last time I had cheap tires my ABS would go off every time I tried to stop in the rain, that was scary, lots of close calls. I know you may have to stretch your budget, but there really isn't anything more important on your car.
Even if you get used make sure they're not more than 6 years old. the DOT code on the tire has a 4 digit number section, for example 3304. This would mean they were made in the 33rd week of 2004 (52 weeks in a year, btw).

Hmm, based on that it looks like the offset would be +45mm. Those are some big wheels, don't think it'll fit on the inside without spacers. I'm not an expert on this, might want to wait for someone else to chime in. Btw, your wheels should have the measurements on them, something like 17x8.5 EJ45. Might be small, could be inside or outside.

All 1990+ Subarus are, except the Tribeca, SVX, 05+ STI, and I'm not sure about the current Legacy/Forester/Impreza, but those aren't likely what you're concerned about.

Re: Larger Wheel and Tire Fitment thread
This seems like an appropriate thread to ask - What are the cheapest spacers I can get? I only need two and pretty much any size will work (well not extremely thick ones)

Re: Larger Wheel and Tire Fitment thread
Is this a good idea? I have 04 STI suspension and I have noticed it sits higher in the front than the rear which looks stupid and I'm assuming it's not ideal to have a rake high in the front. Should I pull my front struts and cut a coil or 3/4 coil off the springs? I have a spare set of STI springs too.Suspension: KYB AGX struts, INTRAX springs 3/4 coil cut out of front

Re: Larger Wheel and Tire Fitment thread
you can get 8mm slip ons at pretty much any tire shop/parts storecj91legss wrote:i would like to know as wellciper wrote:This seems like an appropriate thread to ask - What are the cheapest spacers I can get? I only need two and pretty much any size will work (well not extremely thick ones)
some guys run up to 15mm slip ons on stock studs but it is not recommended
anything larger you are looking at bolt ons
-8mm Slip Ons - $25.00/pair
-25mm Bolt Ons 5x114.3 and 5x100 - $79.00/pair
is what they are going for here in BC

Re: Larger Wheel and Tire Fitment thread
I have 17" MSR Wheels and the center of the rim doesn't match the outerdiameter of the center piece of the hub, so everytime i pull my wheels off/put them back on i have to lift, slide, & adjust both the wheel and my feet while trying to get the locking lugnuts on. Are the plastic inserts for the wheels expensive? i've never really thought to ask about this until now.

combo 1- 98 forster five spokes
size: 16x 6 1/2
offset: +48
tire: 215/ 60 R16 Grand Am Raidal GT(worn almost all the way out)
suspension: stock 93 lecacy l awd
rubbing: alittle at full lock and some from the back when the suspension is compressed, for rear tire clearance, fender rolling is required
pictures: front clearance
top clearance, its really close, i can fit my hand through the gap but it rubs the tire and body, also barely clears the rubber stud things on the strut
closer shot of the whole wheel
distance shot

Vehicle: 91 SS
Combo 1: WRX 03
Size:16X6.5
Offset: +55
Tires: Yokohama TM520
Size: 205/55/16
Rubbing: on rear spring perch enough for it to heat up and smell but not enough to keep the car from rolling.
Should I continue drive in hope that it will wear enough away that it will not rub. It was my understanding there wouldn't be any rubbing.
