Trade: Legacy SS for STi

Post by darkcrave »

This is something really goin back and forth in my head.
My good friend has a 2008 sti 40,000 miles 99% stock, he lost his job and just can't afford the 400/mo
Payments. He was goin to return the car to the bank to save his credit.
I offered to take over the car for him in return for my legacy ( he really love subies now )

What he owes is about 16,000, and it would be nice to have a sti.
But I really do love my legacy, and taking the sti means extra money I have goes to
Payment not parts. Stock sti or a 91 legacy that's faster then a sti
Bugging me lol what do you guys think?

There is nothing like pulling up to the light in a old school legacy and smoking newer sti's/wrxs....

In all fareness i would love to see pictures of both!

Win/Win situation in my mind, youlll be driving a subaru regardless!

Only if the bank agrees and the STI goes completely in your name. Who knows where you and your friend will be in 3-4 years when the payments end and you need him to turn over the pinkslip to you.

If you can work out the legalities, I say do the swap and start looking for another cheap Legacy to build on the side.

Yeah that's a hell of a deal. Those GRs are sooooo comfortable too. I would be all over that if I had the op, and like Phyrra said, build another Legacy on the side.

Honestly I wouldnt... I don't like the hatch backs. But it is a hell of a deal. If you like the hatch style def do it.

I decided I'm going to take the STI to the dealer auction. Whatever it pulls at the auction I'm going to slips with him 50-50. Which in turn is more legacy parts lol!
