I liked the chrome too, but everything else was black. And thanks, I have to admit your car inspired me to go 9in wide
Here's my how to from another forum:
rom my nasioc thread:
So why Evo brembos?
[QUOTE]1. Cheaper
2. Their the same thing as Subaru brembos.
3. I like red
4. YouTube - A Dramatic Reading of a YouTube comment.
Couple notes:
Sti pads work with Evo brembos
Get the hardware kit from napa for the sti, Ill post the part number later. It was 25 shipped and everything fit fine except for the pins. More on that later.
It was fairly easy, took a few hours, could have been faster if I didn't have to run to the store.
Use Spec B rotors, should be about 12.5in. STI ones are a little to big.
Step 1:
Jack car up, jack stands, remove wheels, etc.. Use two jacks because your car is too low
Step 2:
Remove stock calipers, rotors, and unbolt brake line. If you need a refresher
http://www.northursalia.com/modificatio ... rakes.html
Step 3:
Grind down the flange of the caliper(angle grinder), just alittle bit, .1in, enough to make it flat.
Step 4:
???
Step 5:
Drill out the spindle. I used a big drill called the Hole Hawg, but any drill should work fine. The reasons for this is because the holes on the Evo brembos are further apart then Subaru ones.
Drill this one and the bottom one, just enough so you can slide the bolts in.
Step 6:
Grind down the spindle, .1-.2 of material, this allows the caliper to centered on the rotor. I took off to much so I had to use washers.
http://www.rs25.com/forums/f105/t101318 ... ost1615534
Step 7:
Install the rotor and calipers, slide the pads in, push the pins in, put the Jesus clip in, and put the caliper on. Screw on the bolts, which should be a 19mm bolt. Reatch the brake line, which fits the caliper perfectly. Bleed brakes, and go break em in.
Pads difference:
Evo bolts are bigger then Subarus, here's the new size:
Napa brembo hardware number:
Yay!
I'll get some better pictures of them tomorrow, and I'll let you know how awesome they are.

By far this is my favorite legacy. I'm picking up my first legacy wagon today (it'll be my 4th subaru) and this wagon is definitely my inspiration for the mods I'll be doing to it.

Awesome. Looks incredible. I love the color and I'm realy jealous of your painted door handles.
You should get the 3M headlight restoration kit from autozone for about $25. I just used it on my gf's civic and the results were amazing. I'm about to do it on one headlight on my legacy that's a little hazy. I'll post pics of before and after on my gf's car and you'll be amazed.

Thanks!
Are you on SLCsubaru?
The color is starting to grow on me, just in time for new paint. I can't decide what color I want, or if I'm going to keep it stock.kimokalihi wrote:Awesome. Looks incredible. I love the color and I'm realy jealous of your painted door handles.

The headlight annoys me, I might just buy a new one. The drivers only cost me $25, but I'd like to try the restoration kit first.
So with MikeyMeyagi's new setup built, I'll be buying his old setup. VF23, fmic, 2.5 heads, robtune, etc... Can't wait!!

Yeah I'm on slcsubaru, same name on there too. I just did the td04 and topmount install on mine. Exhaust and coils are next. When you do the 6 speed swap, if you feel like bringing your old 5 speed back i'd definitely be interested. This is the first subaru i've had with an a/t and I hate it.

Honda Tip: Drive your front wheels up onto a couple 2x4s so you can get a low profile jack underneath. No need for 2 jacks.

My wheel setup will more the make up for the silver paint, something that contrasts and pops against the silver
I'm loving teal.

If you're gonna do it, might as well go for full contrast. Y'know, something that stands out from all the other oddly-colored wheels. I vote gloss construction sign orange.

Yup! It's not completely rust free, which pissed me off quite a bit. Drove all the way from Maine expecting a perfect shell. It's still alot better then the old one.

I like the teal wheels the most, orange wouldn't be bad either.

What part of my wagon is goofy?
Hey Dave! That's looks pretty good! What are you doing for wheels? I mean, now that we have the same car, we must have the same wheels.urabusturbo wrote:+1 on the orange. Ever seen this before? http://bbs.legacycentral.org/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=27307

Everyone here is uber nice and the closest thing to a visit from the truthy train you got was people calling your car "unique".GClark wrote:

The wheels and tires looked just plain bad. Too much poke with zero stance. Last car i saw that sat like your was my uncle Emilios 75 stepside GMC pickup on Z28 looking turbines.
You are posting pics of newer cars that for the most part all have decent enough fittment. You however do not. Painting your wheels some exciting color will only exacerbate your problems.
Now i'm not telling you to go all oni kyan to make those things fit, sell them and find something better.

What is stance and how is it measured? By what reference does this car have zero, and what is more or less?jrbump wrote: Too much poke with zero stance.
