No, steelies on one side, volks on the other side. Poor mans stance. Or volks rear and steelies on the front like the honda kids do. Becauseracecar.

so i found another set of JDM Subaru FHI 4 pot 2 pot, i had them sand blasted and now powder coated red. i got new oem seals to rebuild them & some GODSPEED Brakes stainless steel pistons to rebuild them with, also need to paint the letter's on the calipers white and find a sticker for the rear. ill most likely sell the other gray set that are on the leone or use them for the next build that's going on all ready

Image

also got some nice STi Magnesium Valve Rocker Cover Set coming in, very excited for these all ways wanted them.

Image

also its all most time to order my new turbo the S300SX FMW so i can make my goal of 400whp on a dyno dynamics dyno.

so this is a rear 1986 Subaru control arm, when adding wide wheels with low offsets like Subaru loves it can rub on the rear arm on this old car.

Image

here you can see how much room i have to play if I put on a 17x7.5JJ ET53 stock subaru wheels that can fit Brembo brakes, also the front is not like this its normal Subaru style up front on this car so any wheel is ok

Image

Image

so what have I come up with ! simple easy is flip the arm around to the other side ! looks like the little Leone can put the rubber down to the ground now, 225/45/17 and i could use STi Brembo brakes now for the extra stopping power.

Image

Image

Hey !!!!! why stop there ???? Lol... lets pull out a STi 22B BBS wheel and see if we can add the monster wheels on the Leone so 235/40/17 17x8.5JJ ET48 even fits !! guess its time to show some people how its done on the track this year !

Image

Image

now i am really excited to pull the car out and see if this all works out perfect.

Looks like you should weld a plate on the back side to give it more support like it had on the other side. No it looks like its on touching those two welded on nuts and it looks like it will flex and have too much leverage.

Kind of along the lines of what Kimo mentioned, I'd suggest a spacer or something that the arm comes in contact with rather than just those tack welded nuts.

Ideally, what I'd suggest is cutting the nuts off and have a metal spacer made that's the width & length of the arm's mounting point on the bracket. Then you can either weld new nuts on the back side or just use regular nuts and longer bolts. This design provides more surface contact area between the arm and control arm bracket and minimizes stress concentrations, plus the mounting hardware will go through the bracket on the control arm vs. just onto the nuts that are most likely just tack welded to the control arm.

If you'd like I can draw up a simple sketch/design of what I'm proposing.

if i go threw with it maybe get a machined aluminium plate made, but will see what happens later one.

thank you..... the xt6 was a bit to rusty so I just scraped it ! kicking my self in the butt, but I didn't feel like doing body work then paint on it so the metal guy came and I got paid the 500 for it so it was a free car in the end.

well today was a perfect day to pull it out and start the work on the car, lots of rain wash the salt away so why not bring the car home.

my new black wheels that are so black i cant get a good pic of them lol

GC8 VOLK Rays STi 5x100 16x7 ET 53 with the proper stickers for how ever long they last lol.

Image

Image

Image

also i was going to use these on my Legacy EG33 build, but ill use them here first. Whitline KSB751 will reduce rear-end float particularly under acceleration... why not fits like a glove lol

made for the new style subaru 1989 to 2007, subaru sure does love re using something that works well over many years.

i got the white line ones but after you showing me those ill get those ones for my other build, thanks for the tip on that part !

well the new BW s300sx FMW fits and is in, along with the JDM STi magnesium valve covers.

also had to take the timing belt off and pulleys so I could get to the oil feed line for the AVCS and get the screens out !.. pain in the butt but i had to get it done.

good thing I have room still for the 4" cone aem filter and set up for this turbo.

I had also changed the vacuum lines for the dual wastegates to hi temp silicone to handle the heat stress in that area.

just need to wait for the turbo pipe I ordered so I can complete it all.
