Yup....that tends to happen as we get older....more responsibilities....and more stuff just piles on. It kind of sucks.

Replaced one more coupler on my piping. cut the 45 bend off the hotside before the intercooler because the end of it was all beat up and squared off from the previous owner. It had been so long since i messed with my piping that i forgot what size it was on the hot side. I'll have to buy another 45 because the 45 i bought is 1/4 inch bigger on both sides.

Dammit....

Also found out that the U shaped Coolant line that goes from the oil cooler to the bottom of the block is about ready to burst, great... Its part number is 807611182 for future search inquiries.

I'll have to order that as soon as I get paid.

I didn't get to order my new inlet pipe yet.

Also replaced my R-RH Door actuator assembly. It was starting to die. it would only work sometimes.

Well I Swapped wheels with the gf, I now have her OBS wheels. I've always wanted a set of these. I'm happy. Gave it a bath the other day and yesterday I took a chance and installed my carbon vinyl on my roof.

It was a little difficult, I do have some waves in the material so it's not perfect but for my first time ever doing it, I'm pretty proud of myself. I'm considering ordering dark blue sheets and doing the rest of the car instead of painting it now.

Also sanded and sprayed wrinkle black on my wiper arms.

Some upclose pictures where you can see the wave in the pattern and the couple spots where it got too warm in the sunlight and made some small creases. Trial and error on this one, next time we'll get it down better. I should have mentioned, was not just me that did this, My roomate helped out as well.

Yeah.....like tint, you need to keep a lot of soapy water on things to keep it fluid and movable....otherwise it will set and you're screwed.

However, I think you guys did a very good job!

Yeah I don't think you can use too much. You just squegee the excess out.

I may order another piece and re-do it. In the sunlight it looks like shit, especially in the small creases. they bubbly up just a bit once the wrap gets warm.

Re: CJ's Prefaced 92 SS build...

Post by cj91legss »

Well I'm way over due for an update, so here goes...

That's it...

:-D

Just kidding, Yesterday I spent about 10-11 hours on ride_child's SS getting his core support fixed, he had gotten into a fender bender several months back and needed a hand fixing a few things. I got his new to him SS bumper on and got most of his core support to line up so his SS looks decent for WCSS. Also helped him with some minor mods, wrx coolant tank where his AC pump was, and some re routing of coolant and bpv lines. Was a good time.

I ordered my new under the manifold intake, It wasn't supposed to be here until the 13th of September since it came from china, But to my surprise it showed up today. YAY!!!!! so hopefully it'll go on this weekend. or at least before wcss so i can open the hood and show off my pretty blue intake piece. My old piece works fine but isn't the style I wanted after i put everything together in 2010.

Also, I recently bought another SS that needs a new 4eat. Searched a bunch today about the issue it has with no 3rd or 4th, don't want to even try to deal with rebuilding the 4eat so i may just 5 speed swap it or drop a 4.11/4.44 4eat in it and sell it. After it's all fixed (trans and oil leaks) my girlfriend gets the option of keeping her 93 SS 4eat or the 91 SS (which ever drive train I put in it) and sell the left over SS to pay off some stuff or help me further my build.

I'm pretty stoked that this is literally the 4th turbo legacy I have owned.

My financial situation will be A LOT better at the end of September, so I'm looking forward to more mods and more power. After driving Mike's car with his rob tune/550/td05, I know that I want his power at the very least. I made my girlfriend scream when I took her for a ride in his car. I plan on rebuilding my td05 20g with genuine Mitsubishi rebuild kit, kinugwa shaft and compressor wheel (maybe billet) and using that with a rob tune and 550s. Obviously with a wideband and egt to be safe.

My car is still having the hesitation before boost, and a lot of wastegate flutter. so the turbo issue is a must to resolve, plus my car is sooooo slow now compared to how it was with the vf39. In due time tho, i'm getting a pay increase that will net me an extra 1300-1500 a month. So with that, both or all three SS's will be sitting pretty good on drive ability, and Amanda's and my SS will be sitting good with enough oomph to pass anything on the highway.

Here's the pics of the new under the manifold intake I just got in the mail today. I will take some before and after pics during install.

ImageImage

I'm NOT replacing my current setup because it has problems, I'm only doing this because I like how the IAC hose has a dedicated spot on this new intake piece. If anyone has that SPECIFIC metal line and s shaped hose for the IAC for the 20G and 20H intake manifold, I would love to buy it off you ASAP.

That's a heck of an update, CJ! I do like the under intake style setup, wish I hadn't sold my complete ej20k setup I once had.

I just drove my friend's car, a swapped 00 Impreza coupe... Lets just say it wiped the floor with mine, hard ...Just when I was beginning to think my car was kinda fast, lol.
