ok ok...
I have a BIG problem...
I'm trying to make fit a air/air TMIC, in the place of the older one, which was the genuine AWIC.
The TMIC I want to make fit is a ARC, which was built for a WRX V2.
BUT, this TMIC was built for RHD cars, and mine is LHD (I'm French).
SO, I do not have the place, because of the clutch's mater cylinder ...
I have one question. I do not think that it is possible to make fit my new intercooler because of this clutch master cylinder.
But if I invert it..., it could be possible !
Is it possible to invert the sense of the clutch's master cylinder, and to change the place of the reservoir a hose connected to the both ? It could allow me to find the space I need...
I do not find any solutions...
Please, HELP !
Is it possible to invert the sense of thr clutch's cylinder

Re: Is it possible to invert the sense of thr clutch's cylin
On the American cars we have to chop down the plastic reservoir on the master cylinder to fit an intercooler. The reservoir cannot be installed upside down because the air bubbles in the system would not be able to bleed out, and the cap isn't really sealed.
Instead of swapping to an intercooler, what about upgrading the size of the front heat exchanger and pump? The awic setup is better than a top mount in most cases if you get a big enough front exchanger. Thry sell universal AWIC exchangers on ebay for $99 on up.

Thank you very much !
I understand well that it is not possible to install the reservoir upside down.
I would like to install it in the right position, as before, but connected through a hose to the cylinder.
I only told myself if it is possible to install the cylinder upside down, and to make it work correctly in a such position.
If I do not find any way to make this TMIC fit, sure, I will follow an other way. A bigger exchanger with bigger pump could be a great solution... But now, there is a fight between the man and the machine, and I want to win ! If there is a solution, I want to find it before to change my plans !

this thread will help show you what needs to be done to the clutch reservoir. About a quarter of the way down on page one. It keeps things stock with very little modification.

I have the jdm clutch Mc for sale. It's a rhd unit. Maybe it'd help?

It has the offset reservoir.

Re: Is it possible to invert the sense of thr clutch's cylin
His ARC might be too deep to fit regardless. My 06/07 is pretty close to the short/offset MC. The ARC intercoolers are pretty big
Yes I have too many Subarus
No you can't have one

Re: Is it possible to invert the sense of thr clutch's cylin
Thank you everybody for your help !
I live in Libreville you know, so my internet connection is not very very good...
For cj91legss, the jdm clutch mc does not interest me, because it is as big as mine, so...
And the offset reservoir does not resolve my matter because of the height of my clutch mc.
thank you for your interest !
For dscoobydoo, you're right ! It's a big intercooler ! And I'm studying every options to try to make it fit, before upgrading the size of the front heat exchanger and pump (great idea !) I found lots of great things about it on this forum.
I think (but not sure), that it could be possible, mounting the clutch mc upside down, with a U hose joining the reservoir.
But now, I think that nobody tried this and I do not know if it would be possible.
If it's not enough, I can win a few mm, using manifold spacers...

Re: Is it possible to invert the sense of thr clutch's cylin
Look at your MC up-side-down idea from a gravity perspective : how do you fill it? How do you bleed it? When I did my IC from the 06 I had to use the offset reservoir. And it barely fits. Your IC is much larger.

Yeah, there's no way inverting the clutch master cylinder will work.
