So I got this car with a bad fuel pump. Cranked but no fire. Threw a fuel pump in and it fired up. Sat for a long time and finally moved it out to my shop to work on it. Replaced plugs, wires, MAF, TB and gasket, IACV, intake tube, and added a front mount, also I cleaned and main ECU grounds I have not driven this car yet. Just trying to figure it out enough to where it idles and revs ok.
My problem is cold it will idle, and rev ok. Runs really rich and sometimes I get a pop out of the intake. now when it gets warm, it doesn't want to idle and the throttle response is really slow. Video below.

Did you change the correct coolant temp sensor?

It's EJ20G but I've used them before with no problem. Changing it has no effect on it.mike-tracy wrote:Did you change the correct coolant temp sensor?

Interesting, swapping out a dead one for a good one had a huge effect on mine. I did reuse the ej22t coolant crossover pipe though on my 20g.

Yeah I don't think it is the culprit. It didn't change engine conditions at all. I think today I'm going to try and get ahold of a smoke tester so I can be sure there are no vac leaks.mike-tracy wrote:Interesting, swapping out a dead one for a good one had a huge effect on mine.
