It's possible to have a thread, per person, but right now it's NOT possible to give ONE user EXCLUSIVE access to a thread.

There may be a mod to do this, for 2.0, but everything changes in 3.0. I'll look at an install I have of 3 to do this.

At best there will be a single thread, in a forum devoted to builds, per user, and with exclusive access to the owner. If this can be done then I will make it happen.

If you'd like to volunteer to moderate a forum with locked threads, lock and unlock and manage all of these people, it could be done. This would take a bit of time to set up and could very easily be done wrong.

I don't want to manage it, and I don't think Josh is too keen on it either.

My webserver auto installs phpBB3.

I can manually install phpBB2 but im going to dick around with 3.0 and see what it offers as far as flexability.

We are running the latest build of 2.0, 2.0.23 at present.

In my active install of phpBB3 I find no per-thread user permissions. There might be another way to do it, similar to the way the Vendor Garage is set up.

I can set this up in this version and it will carry over to 2.0.

I'm going to create a new forum and a thread with suggestions for project cars.

DLC. I installed this blog program.

It works with the phpBB2 install, but i havent tested it with phpBB3.

It should detect your login from the forum. Anyone feel free to test it out. I'll be playin around with it.

It works pretty well. I've created a user, a blog and an entry. If there's a version that works with 3.0 I'd look at it serously.

Ok I dunno what happend, but as soon as I posted this stuff last night... half my internet went down.
I could not access my webserver or LegacyCentral.org from 9pm PST until... well, i went to bed at 1am and tried like ever 5min.

Checked the new forum and its nice. But I like the blogger idea cause people are able to leave comments without it disrupting the blog. That, and the owner of the blog has control over comments.

The forum thing works too, just hope people make use of it cause I wanna know more about the cars we own

I'll start my build thread when I get some pix hosted.

Not sure if it matters much, but on my blog site I edited all the colors and some of the code to make it alittle easier to read.

I didn't really mean for it to be some closed off forum where only a few people could post. I was thinking more of a place where people could post about their cars and that comments would be allowed, just without all the extra stuff that gets put in the pictures and misc and astray sections.

So maybe start with minimal rules, if there are problems add some, if that doesn't work get rid of it?

it would be different cause it would belong there.

a complete car build thread is more than just pictures, off-topic or misc. It maybe considered misc, but if a person was actively looking for a build thread, I dont think they would know where to look.

I suggest we keep it an open forum, however assign Jamal & SubaruNation moderators so they have the task of keeping it clean
