Torque Convertor Question

OK, I was wondering if the torque convertor in a 93 Legacy L AWD Auto sedan is
actually part of the transmission (w/ the front diff), or if the torque convertor is part of the engine.

I recently did a tranny swap, and I swapped it out at the back of the front diff, and I'm pretty sure I screwed up the torque convertor. I know the tranny is good. But when I put it into Drive, Reverse, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, nothing happens. I mean, the engine runs great, but I think I can smell ATF fluid burning in the engine. So I was wondering, if I were to buy another complete transmission (w/ the front diff, etc.), would the torqe convertor be included, or is that a seperate entity?

Also, if anybody has one for sale..... I am indeed of great need

The torque converter shaft is/should be part of the transmission. When you removed the tranny you should have removed the front diff with the transmission. Actually I'm a little surprised you were able to remove just the tranny and not the diff.

To get the tranny and dif off, you have to loosen the four bolts that hold the torque converter onto the flex plate. You get access to them from the little rubber plug on the bell housing of the engine.

More then likely you buggered up the seal on the torque converter input shaft and it's leaking.....that or you have some other issue as well.
